Maui Police Respond to Call Reporting Gunfire in Makawao, One Person in Custody

Maui police responded to a call this afternoon in which a caller reported hearing gunfire in a Makawao neighborhood.

Maui Police Lt. Audra Sellers tells Maui Now that one individual is currently in custody.

Bystanders say they observed multiple police cars lined up on Pelenaka Place  at around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, and there were partial road closures in place in the vicinity of Kealaloa Road in Makawao.
