Roadwork to Close Portions of Kula, Piʻilani Highways

A project to improve road conditions in the Ulupalakua-Kanaio area will result in partial road closures on portions of Kula and Piʻilani highways from May 11 through June 10, 2020, the Department of Public Works announced.

DPW’s Highways Division has scheduled work from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The project extends from Milepost 21 of Kula Highway to the junction of Piʻilani Highway and Kanaio Road.

Residents are asked to park outside of designated work zones. No parking will be allowed on roadway shoulders.

Driveway access will be blocked on work days in affected residential areas.

Residents are asked to turn off roadside irrigation systems and reschedule any home appointments or maintenance that may require direct vehicle access to a residence.
