Mayor Interview: Maui to Allow Passive Recreation at Beaches Under Trial Period

Maui will allow passive recreation at Maui Beaches effective this Saturday, May 16, for a trial period of two weeks (May 16 to 30). This is on a temporary basis only and will be reassessed.
The information was shared during a morning interview with Maui Mayor Michael Victorino who providing updates on Pacific Media Group’s network of Maui stations as the County continues to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, the Mayor spoke with Shane Kahalehau of KPOA 93.5 FM on Maui, and shared his thoughts on the progress of the phased reopening of businesses in Maui County.
