Maui Crime May 10 to May 16: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 4 burglaries, 7 vehicle thefts and 10 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from May 10 to May 16, 2020.

Burglaries decreased 60 percent from the week before, when 10 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts rose 40 percent from the week before when 5 incidents were reported; and vehicle break-ins remained the same from the week before.

Haʻikū: 

  • Wednesday, May 13, 10:35 a.m.: 28 Laupapa Pl., Haʻikū. Non-residential, unlawful entry.
  • Wednesday, May 13, 4:29 p.m.: 2207 Lilikoʻi Rd., Haʻikū. Non-residential, forced entry.

Nāpili: 

  • Tuesday, May 12, 11 a.m.: 3600 Block of Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, Nāpili. Residential, unlawful entry.

  • Friday, May 15, 6:50 a.m.: 2020 Pakahi St., Wailuku at Wailuku Gym. Non-residential, forced entry.

7 Vehicle Thefts

Kahului:

  • Sunday, May 10, 12:38 a.m.: 400 Block of S Kamehameha Avenue, Kahului. Chevy, white.
  • Monday, May 11, 12:51 a.m.: 310 Kaʻahumanu Ave., Kahului at University of Hawaiʻi Maui College. White golf cart.
  • Monday, May 11, 6:02 a.m.: 65 Kaʻahumanu Ave., Kahului at Asian Cuisine. Baige moped.

Lahaina: 

  • Monday, May 11, 12:39 p.m.: 1400 Block of Front Street, Lahaina. Black/blue moped.

Makawao: 

  • Thursday, May 14, 8:59 a.m.: 600 Block of Kaiaulu Loop, Makawao. Black moped.
  • Thursday, May 14, 12:04 p.m.: Makawao Avenue, Makawao. Subaru, silver.
