Maui’s H.P. Baldwin High School Principal Keoni Wilhelm announced the cancellation of the annual “We Love Baldwin” Block Party due to COVID-19 related restrictions on gatherings.

Each year, the family-friendly February event raises funds for various Baldwin teams, clubs and scholarships. It’s also normally a time for students, alumni and the wider community to enjoy food & drink, live entertainment, games for the kids and a chance for people to connect.

“It’s unfortunate that we have to cancel this cherished Wailuku event,” Wilhelm said. “But keeping everyone safe amidst this pandemic is our top concern.”

In its place, Baldwin will hold an Online Auction in February to raise funds for BHS Scholarships. Anyone wanting to make a monetary donation or a donation of goods or services is asked to refer to the BHS website to sign up, or click on this link.

“In spite of COVID-19, school is in session, our seniors will graduate, and many of them will head to college or vocational/technical school next fall,” Wilhelm said. “This year’s goal is to raise $2,500 — enough for five $500 scholarships. We appreciate any donations that will help us meet or exceed our goal.”

Call the school at 727-3200 for more information.
