Water Shutdown to Affect Parts of Kahului, Feb. 17

Water shutdown.

Work on the County’s water system will result in a water shutdown for parts of Kahului between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, and 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021.

Jas. W. Glover, Ltd. will be performing the work, which is related to the Kahului Airport Scalping Plant. Water scalping involves the extraction and/or processing of sewage and wastewater so that it may be put to beneficial use, such as for irrigation. 

Water shut off will affect customers at Kahului Airport, Keolani Place, Hālaʻi Street, Kaonawai Place, Aʻalele Street, Koeheke Street, Mokuea Place, Kaʻa Street, Frontal Road, Kala Road, ʻEʻena Street, Kūhea Street, Kauwā Street, ʻEʻehia Street, Stable Road, and Sprecklesville (Kapukaulua Place, Alakapa Place, Lauleʻa Place, Makahiki Street, Cane Place, Pāʻani Place, Nonohe Place, Kealakai Place, Waipua Street, Ulupua Place).

Customers in Pāʻia and Kūʻau may experience low pressure during the shut-down.  

DWS customers affected are encouraged to store water and adjust schedules as appropriate.
