American Savings Bank Distributes Nearly 1,000 Turkeys on Five Islands
American Savings Bank hosted a statewide Turkey Drive-Thru event for its 1,100 teammates across the state on Sunday, Nov. 21, as part of its annual Teammate Appreciation Month festivities.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, our ASB Dream Team has gone above and beyond to assist our customers and community through some of their most financially challenging times,” said Beth Whitehead, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at ASB. “We are glad to celebrate and recognize our teammates and provide them with this free turkey that they can enjoy with their loved ones over the holidays.”
Teammates on each of the five islands ASB serves participated in the Turkey Drive-Thru event, featuring the bank’s leadership team dressed up in fun turkey costumes. As a bonus, ASB gave out randomly selected “Golden Turkeys” to 20 lucky teammates who scored an additional $200 gift card to brighten their holidays.
Over the past 20 months, ASB’s 1,100 teammates have tirelessly assisted customers, including helping to secure $540 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans for more than 6,300 Hawaiʻi companies, which helped to preserve an estimated 64,000 local jobs.
All leftover turkeys from the event were donated to local nonprofit charities.
