Imua Family Services selected as one of Hawaiʻi’s Best Places to Work
Imua Family Services was named as one of Hawaiʻi’s Best Places to Work for 2022 during Hawaiʻi Business Magazine’s annual awards celebration held at the Hilton Hawaiian Villages Waikīkī on Friday.
This is the 12th time the agency has received the distinction. Executive Director Dean Wong notes, “This award is a reflection of our high-caliber staff and the dedication each of them brings in service to the children and families in our community. You can’t become a great place to work without great coworkers.”
With this award, Imua Family Services has yet another reason to celebrate at its upcoming 75th anniversary gala later this month. The event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, will look back at the agency’s founding in 1947, its initial battle to assist those affected by polio, and its evolution to become the largest single provider of early childhood intevention programs in Hawaiʻi.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, this past year has been an especially exciting one for the agency with a return to home visits by its therapeutic staff, the continued development of Imua Discovery Garden in Wailuku, and the recent announcement of its Color Festival Hawaiʻi returning to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
Event tickets are available online at www.mauiarts.org.
For 17 years, Hawaiʻi Business Magazine has enlisted Best Companies Group to help them identify the Best Places to Work in Hawaiʻi. Best Companies Group is the expert in this field: Each year it conducts dozens of similar surveys in the US, Canada and Great Britain.
Nominated companies face two tests: a confidential survey of their employees and an extensive questionnaire on company benefits and policies. The confidential survey, the most important more heavily weighted of the two elements, allows employees to speak honestly about both what they like about their workplace and what they detest.
