Seabury Hall dance program, 2023.

Seabury Hall’s Dance program will present The 35th Annual Dance Showcase at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 at the ʻAʻaliʻikūhonua Creative Arts Center.

Diverse in style, mood, and form, the showcase will feature more than 60 middle and upper school students dancing to new works by guest choreographers: alumna and dancer Kelsey Greenway, Artistic Director of Adaptations Dance Company Hallie Hunt, New York dancer and choreographer Nathaniel Hunt, and the Artistic Directors of Evolution Dance Maui, Meghan and Tito Reyes.

Performances will range from ballet to modern dance, jazz to hip-hop, musical theater, and thought-provoking dance theater.

Works by Seabury Hall faculty will also be included in the lineup with ballet pieces from Don Quixote and Giselle by Dance Instructor Vanessa Cerrito, as well as several new works including a suite, The Way of Water, by Dance Director David Ward.

Other highlights include a performance from the new Evolution Dance Maui company, PiroKlastiks, under the direction of Meghan and Tito Reyes, and student works from Seabury Hall’s own budding choreographers.

“The love, joy, and care these students show for their craft and for each other is heartwarming,” said Dance Director David Ward. “We take great pride in providing opportunities for students to find their voice and express themselves through dance and hope this show shares that same joy with our Maui community.”
