Swell Summary
Existing small medium period NNW (330) and tiny long period NW (320) swells subside during the next 12 hours or so. NW-facing shores then get a small bump Monday through Wednesday as long period low amplitude energy from the NW (320) advances through area waters. For mid-to-late week, attention turns to the arrival of a long period large to extra-large NW (320-330) swell. Long period forerunners likely arrive Wednesday night. Swell then peaks Thursday into Friday when surf is forecast to exceed the High Surf Warning threshold. Strong trades maintain short period chop along east-facing shores with modest improvement as the week progresses and winds weaken. Long period energy out of the SSW (210) brings a small bump to south-facing shores today and gradually subsides through the week. Another bump for S facing shores likely by week's end.
