Nine recruits from 95th Recruit Class join the ranks of the Maui Police Department

Nine new officers joined the ranks of the Maui Police Department as the graduates of the 95th Recruit Class. A ceremony was held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the King Kamehameha Golf Club.
During the ceremony, Recruit Levy Alizna was honored with the Outstanding Recruit Award. He also earned the Sensei Shinichi Suzuki Award for Arrest and Defense Tactics and the M. Cecil Rusty Dickson Physical Fitness Award.
Other awards presented were the following:
- Neil T. Endo Outstanding Firearms Award: Recruit Hauʻoli Caparida
- Outstanding Notebook Award: Recruit Quinton Pedroza
- Scholastic Achievement Award: Recruit Austin Travis
The new officers are Jeremiah Aceret, Levy Alizna, Kaelan Bush, Hauʻoli Caparida, Lyman Diego, Quinton Pedroza, Aloices Sabugo, Austin Travis, and Lateral Officer Graduate Anthony Campos.
The newly graduated officers will undergo four months of on-the-job field training with veteran police officers before being qualified to work alone.
