Hawaiʻi State FCU donates $25,000 to Salvation Army Maui for continued wildfire recovery

In strong support and remembrance, Hawaiʻi State Federal Credit Union (Hawaiʻi State FCU) recently presented a $25,000 donation to the Salvation Army Maui dedicated to the continued recovery of the communities impacted by the devastating Maui wildfires. This donation is part of an internal fundraising initiative, which the credit union and its employees collectively contributed to support the Salvation Army Maui.

“As we recently marked the one-year anniversary of the tragic Lahaina wildfires, our continued thoughts are with all of those affected,” said Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaiʻi State FCU. “The Salvation Army Maui has been instrumental in the recovery process, and we are honored to support their ongoing efforts. The overwhelming generosity from our employees during our inaugural Burgers for a Cause event represents our commitment to stand with the Maui community as they rebuild.”

Hawaiʻi State FCU’s Burgers for a Cause event took place from July 12-19, 2024 at all 14 Hawaiʻi State FCU branches on Oʻahu and Maui, and its call center. The campaign encouraged employees to make direct donations to the Salvation Army Maui while enjoying a complimentary hamburger. Additionally, the Hawaiʻi State FCU headquarters hosted its own Burgers for a Cause event on July 3, 2024, in partnership with the local business Burgers on Bishop.

Through these collective efforts, Hawaiʻi State FCU and its employees raised $25,000 for the Maui Salvation Army in July 2024, this included direct donations made by employees during the Burgers for a Cause event, a $10,000 donation from Hawaiʻi State FCU and a $5,000 personal donation from Andrew Rosen, president and CEO of Hawaiʻi State FCU.
