Maui FCU Higher Education Scholarship recipients in 2024. PC: Maui FCU

Maui Federal Credit Union has announced the five outstanding members who’ve received the Higher Education Scholarship for the academic year 2024-25.

The recipients of this year’s scholarship are:

  • Angelo Mattew Balasan, air transport management, Arizona State University
  • Deanne Suehisa, hospitality management, University of Nevada Las Vegas
  • Jovan Gumtang Butac, general engineering, Grand Canyon University
  • Marceliza Luwalhati, Master of Science in Nursing (focus on public health nursing), Grand Canyon University
  • Mariz Alyanna Tumacder, nursing, University of Hawaiʻi Maui College

“We are thrilled to recognize these five outstanding students with $1,000 scholarships to help them pursue higher education,” said Maui FCU CEO and President Clayton Fuchigami “Their hard work, dedication, and passion for their respective fields are truly inspiring, and we are confident that they will continue to excel and make significant contributions to their communities and beyond.”

The Maui FCU Higher Education Scholarship is part of Maui FCU’s ongoing commitment to support and nurture the next generation of leaders and innovators. This scholarship provides financial assistance and resources to help students achieve their educational and professional goals.

Maui FCU’s scholarship program is open to primary members of Maui FCU in good standing for at least one year and applicants must be a full-time student during the award year. They submitted an application form, an essay or video, along with their acceptance letter to the college of their choice. The application for next year will be available in March 2025.
