Remains found on Molokaʻi, identified as missing Kaunakakai man

Maui police have identified remains found at a Kaunakakai residence on Molokaʻi in March as that of Timothy Webb, 77, of Kaunakakai. Police investigated the discovery of human remains at the home on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Webb was reported missing the previous month, on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, by a concerned acquaintance who had not heard from him since December 2023.

“The Maui Police Department pursues the identification of every decedent, with scientific identification performed in complex cases such as this one.  While the cause of death is still under investigation, the Maui Police Department extends our deepest condolences to Mr. Webb’s family and friends,” Maui Police Public Information Officer Alana Pico said in an email to Maui Now.

The investigation remains ongoing.
