Water customers in parts of Upper Kula and Makawao are experiencing an outage through 8 o’clock tonight. The water service outage is due to a mainline break from Friday.

The outage is from 1700 Piʻiholo Road and above, and Olinda Road/Lumahai Place and above; affecting 30 homes and 2 standpipes.

Water buffalos are located at: bird sanctuary, ʻEhu Road, above ʻEhu Road on the sharp turn, and on Ala Luana Road.

Upon restoration of water service, residents may experience brown water.  Impacted consumers need to flush their waterlines outside for 10-20 minutes, then run their faucet for another 10-20 minutes before use.

The Department of Water Supply apologized for any inconvenience.
