A fundraising farm dinner to support Hawai‘i’s land trusts will take place Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Nāulu Farm at Mākena Golf & Beach Club.

The event, titled “I Mau Ke Aloha, will benefit the Hawai‘i Land Trust (HILT) and the Lahaina Community Land Trust (LCLT), two organizations working to protect land and support community-rooted stewardship on Maui and across the islands. All proceeds will go directly to supporting their missions.

The evening will feature a farm-to-table dinner, live entertainment by Marja Lehua Apisaloma and Wailau Ryder and views of Pu‘u Ōla‘i and Kaho‘olawe. Seating is limited and available by registration at www.makenainfo.com.

“I Mau Ke Aloha,” meaning “towards the constancy of aloha,” embodies the enduring connection between Hawai‘i’s people and environment. The event is being organized by Mākena Golf & Beach Club.

“This event celebrates two organizations dedicated to ho‘omau—maintaining a perpetual relationship of aloha between Hawai‘i’s people and our environment,” said Leahi Hall, director of community engagement at Mākena Golf & Beach Club. “Hawai‘i Land Trust protects spaces for ecological restoration, and cultural connection, food production and fostering healthy keiki and families. Lahaina Community Land Trust ensures local families remain rooted in place, preserving handprints in driveways and memories on walls.”

Autumn Ness, executive director of LCLT, said the organization, which is less than two years old, has helped secure properties for community ownership and issued rebuilding grants for Lahaina families. “Keeping lands in Lahaina hands is a kākou effort,” Ness said. “Every dollar raised helps us protect ʻāina for future generations.”

“We are thankful to the Mākena Golf and Beach Club for their ongoing support and partnership,” said ‘Olu Campbel, HILT president and CEO. “Proceeds from this event will allow HILT and LCLT to do more for our ʻāina and people on Maui and across Hawaiʻi. We’re so excited for what is sure to be an amazing evening.”
