Free Diabetes Self-Management workshop series begins Sept. 16

The County of Maui Department of Human Concerns’ Office on Aging, in partnership with Mauliola Pharmacy’s Hoʻokaulike Wellness branch, invites individuals living with diabetes to participate in Diabetes Self-Management, a free six-week workshop series designed to help participants build practical ways to manage diabetes and incorporate healthy self-management strategies into their everyday lives.
The workshop sessions will be held every Wednesday from Sept. 16 to Oct. 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants can attend in person at Mauliola Pharmacy, 95 Mahalani St., Room 28-5, in Wailuku or virtually via Microsoft Teams. iPads are also available to borrow for participants who need one for the virtual sessions.
Developed by Stanford University, this evidence-based program provides a supportive environment where participants learn strategies to manage fatigue, stress, difficult emotions, communication challenges, low or high blood sugar and other aspects of daily life while living with diabetes.
The workshop will be facilitated by certified Diabetes Self-Management education specialists who bring both professional expertise and personal experience to help participants learn ways to manage diabetes that fit their individual needs.
The program is made possible, in part, through funding from the State of Hawaiʻi Healthy Aging Partnership Program, administered by the Maui County Office on Aging. This funding supports evidence-based health promotion programs that empower individuals to better manage chronic health conditions and improve quality of life.
Space is limited. Advance registration is encouraged by calling Mauliola Pharmacy at 808-795-3762 or 808-451-2516 or online at www.mauliolapharmacy.com.
