The National Weather Service forecast calls for sunny conditions in Kahului, Maui today with a high near 88, and breezy conditions with east winds blowing at 15 to 17 mph.

According to the NWS forecast discussion, east-southeast winds will shift to more easterly winds tonight, and remain moderate into the weekend.

A passing upper level disturbance will bring scattered showers to Kauaʻi today, with an increase in trade showers expected in the second half of the week.

There were no active warnings, watches, or advisories in effect for the state as of 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
