Doris Todd Celebrates New Playground With Blessing

Students at Doris Todd Christian Academy in Pāʻia, Maui, celebrated the completion of a new sports court and playground area during a blessing ceremony held on the campus grounds.

During the event, students presented leis and thank you cards to community partners who helped to make the project a reality.

“HC&S has been neighbors with your school for over 50 years and we’re grateful to be able to be a part of your playground improvements,” said company General Manager Rick Volner Jr. during the campus assembly.

A&B, along with subsidiary HC&S were among the community partners that made contributions in the form of money, equipment, trucks, and sand.

“We were able to complete a huge project for about a fourth of the cost with help and donations from HC&S, KT&S Trucking, Kihei Landscape & Gardening, TMC Construction, Pacific Frameworks, R Tendo Construction, Sterling Development Services, Goodfellow Brothers, Maui Industrial Fabricators, and many parent volunteers,” said Brooks Maguire, president of the Parent Teacher Fellowship.
