Staffing Shortage Results in Missed Trash Pickup

A staffing shortage has resulted in missed trash pickup for residential refuse customers in parts of Pukalani, Kahului, and the Kula 200 subdivision county officials said.

Affected areas in Upcountry, Maui include: Alalani Street; Aliʻiolani Street; ʻAuliʻi Drive; ʻAuliʻi Place; Awakea Loop; Haleakalā Highway; Hiwalani Loop; Hoʻopālua Drive; Ihea Place; Hōlani Street; ʻIolani Street; Kīhāpai Place; Piʻimauna Street; and all other surrounding streets.

Areas affected in Kahului include: Aʻiaʻi Street; Kūʻula Street; Kuhuoi Street; Kahiki Street; Mokapu Street; Pōlani Street; Meli Place; Ani; and cul-de-sacs off of Ani Street.

The missed pick up is expected to be made tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, according to a County of Maui announcement.
