Dazoo to Host Hawaii Wildlife Fund Benefit Night

This Monday, June 2, Paia’s Dazoo Restaurant will host a benefit for the Hawaii Wildlife Fund during their dinner service.

From 5-9 p.m., a portion of the sales made will be donated to the organization, which is devoted to the protection of Hawaii’s marine ecosystem and inhabitants.

The event is slated to become a regular thing, with recurring opportunities to dine and donate taking place the first Monday of each month.

According to Dazoo’s owner, Yulie Law, “ever since taking ownership of the original Moana Cafe, we’ve been looking for the perfect organization to partner with at the restaurant.  After seeing the volunteers at the turtle watches along the North Shore, and hearing about the beach clean up projects and all their conservation efforts, and their longevity here on Maui, we knew they were the group.”

Hannah Bernard, president and co-founder of Hawaii Wildlife Fund, says she is excited about the growing relationship with Dazoo. “We are thrilled that Dazoo chose us simply because our work speaks for itself. We are also happy that this business cares enough about Maui’s environment that they are committing to really giving back.”

To add to the options (and, presumably, the sales) Dazoo’s bartender, Jimmy Shoemaker, and HWF’s Vice President Cheryl King, teamed up to create a signature drink for the event.

“The Tipsy Turtle” is made with Maui Platinum Rum, fruit juices and blue curacao and should probably not be served to actual turtles.
