Celebrate “National Taco Day” and Benefit Lahainaluna Program
By Vanessa Wolf
Well, $%*?@#!!
Did you know that today, September 30 is
- National Chewing Gum Day
- National Mud Pack Day
- National Hot Mulled Cider Day
AND
- Blasphemy Day?
While celebrating, feel free to combine them as you see fit, but remember to act responsibly.
Meanwhile, seeing as every day is now something special, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to learn that this Saturday, October 4 is National Taco Day.
If that’s not enough, you can celebrate it at Sangrita Grill + Cantina and benefit the Lahainaluna High School Agricultural Program at the same time.
The restaurant will be offering $7 margaritas all day and a special fish taco trio – Baja style mahi mahi, grilled ono and grilled marlin – for $15.
Moreover, as you probably surmised, a portion of the proceeds from the day’s sales will benefit Lahainaluna High School Agricultural Program, whose mission is to help our community grow the next generation of young farmers.
They stress hands-on learning, community service, internships, and work experience activities to help students be college and career-ready. In addition, they provide assistance to Maui’s school gardens with plant donations and volunteer work.
Get your taco on and help future farmers from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. Ole!
