Police say the man was the lone occupant of a black 1991 Jeep Wrangler and was traveling down West Kuiaha Road when the incident occurred.

According to a police report filed by Maui Police Officer Lawrence Becraft, speed is suspected as a factor in the collision.

Authorities say the man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
