Next Saturday, December 13, Sugar Beach Events is hosting “Cookies and Canapés,” an evening of (fancy) sugar and snacks.

Organizers note that attendees will “enjoy wine, champagne, heavy hors d’oevres, s’mores under the stars, and the fine art of holiday cookie making,” as Sugar Beach Events Executive Pastry Chef Natalie O’Brien shares her secrets for cookie decoration.

“Come ready to get the best tips for fun Christmas cookie decoration,” said Chef O’Brien. “You can also use this time to ask any general baking questions to help get through the holidays.”

After trying your own hand with your newfound knowledge,  Chef Lee Anderson will be judging a cookie decorating contest with “fabulous prizes.”

Even if you don’t win, you can anticipate bringing home six decorated gourmet cookies.

The event starts at 5:30 p.m.; includes wine, champagne, canapés, s’mores and half a dozen gourmet cookies; and costs $50 a person.
