Kīhei Charter Student to Participate in Senate Page Program

Kīhei Charter School junior Conner Jones has been accepted to the highly selective US Senate Page program.

Conner, one of only 30 students from across the the country to be selected, will spend next semester in Washington, DC, working with the office of Sen. Mazie Hirono and attending the prestigious Senate Page School.

Conner has exceled academically during his time at Kīhei Charter.

He participates in track and field and is a member of the inaugural Kīhei Charter School football team.

Outside of school, Conner is an active member of Civil Air Patrol, currently holding the grade of Cadet Second Lieutenant.

Conner hopes to use this experience to learn more about the US government, strengthen his leadership skills, and help support his ultimate goal of attending the US Air Force Academy.

The staff and student body of Kīhei Charter School are excited about Conner’s journey.

“This will be the first time that one of our students has ventured beyond Maui for this type of experience,” said Kīhei Charter CEO Jen Fordyce. “Kīhei Charter School places a strong emphasis on experiential, project-based education. Conner has completed independent projects exploring topics from how airplanes fly to research and practice in becoming a stronger student leader. We are excited to see all of Conner’s hard work paying off. He is the perfect fit for this program.”
