A Small Craft Advisory is posted for Maui County windward waters and the ʻAlenuihāhā and Kaiwi channels through 6:00 p.m. Friday for winds of 25 knots and rough seas up to 12 feet.

A High Surf Advisory is posted for north-facing shores of Maui and Moloka’i until 6:00 a.m. Sunday for 12 to 16 foot faces. The west of Moloka’i is also under the advisory with 8 to 12 foot faces forecasted. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Today

Today we expect partly cloudy conditions. In the morning isolated showers are forecasted while the afternoon may see an increase in moisture with scattered showers expected. Winds are expected out of the west from 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts. High temperatures are forecasted to fall in the range of 77° to 83°.

Tonight

Mostly clear skies are forecasted tonight with isolated showers for north facing slopes. Low temperatures from 64° to 69° degrees are expected. West winds around 15 mph are expected, veering out of the north from 10 to 15 mph.

Looking Ahead

Locally breezy and gusty westerly winds are expected through Friday. A fast moving band of spotty showers is forecasted to pass over the island chain on Friday. Winds will gradually weaken and shift out of the north as drier conditions develop Friday night and Saturday. South to southwest winds will steadily increase on Sunday then become breezy and gusty on Monday ahead of a front. The front is expected to move across the islands later Monday and Tuesday.
