Enhanced Showers Expected Late Saturday

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for the Pailolo and ʻAlenuihāhā channels as well as Māʻalaea Bay through 6:00 p.m. Saturday for northeast winds from 20 to 25 knots and rough seas up to 12 feet. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

Today
Partly cloudy skies are expected today with scattered windward and mauka showers. Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast for leeward areas across Maui County. Trade winds are expected from 10 to 20 mph with high temperatures from 81° to 86° near shore and lower high temperatures at higher elevations.

Tonight
Showers are likely for windward areas with mostly cloudy skies. Scattered showers are expected in leeward spots with partly cloudy skies. Trade winds are expected from 15 to 20 mph with low temperatures from 69° to 74°.
Sunday
Partly cloudy skies are expected with scattered windward and mauka showers. Leeward spots are only forecasted to get isolated showers. High temperatures from 79° to 84° and low temperatures from 67° to 72° with trade winds blowing from 15 to 20 mph.
Looking Ahead
Low clouds and modest shower activity will favor windward slopes, while high clouds are expected to increase over parts of the island chain. Easterly trade winds are forecasted to strengthen this weekend. Showers will be focused across windward areas, though pockets of moisture in the trade wind flow will produce some leeward rainfall at times. One such area of showers is expected to pass through late Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.
