Solo Sessions at The MACC: Trevor Hall
By Maui Now Staff
Trevor Hall will take the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s McCoy Studio Theater stage to perform his latest hits on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The MACC’s Solo Sessions series features dynamic acoustic performances, and up-and-coming indie rocker Hall more than fits the bill.
Hall began performing and songwriting when he was 16. He burst onto the music scene with “Other Ways,” which was featured on the “Shrek the Third” soundtrack.
His captivating live performances and growing popularity have led to sold-out tours across the US. He has toured with Steel Pulse, the Wailers, Jimmy Cliff, Matisyahu, Michael Franti, Colbie Caillat, SOJA and others.
In 2009, Hall released his Vanguard Records debut, which featured the single, “Unity,” a song written and performed with Matisyahu, a longtime friend. His followup album, “Everything, Everytime, Everywhere,” debuted on the iTunes rock chart at No. 3, on iTunes Top Albums at No. 12 and at No. 8 on Amazon’s Movers & Shakers.
The featured single, “Brand New Day,” was used as the music bed for the reformatted CBS This Morning show.
His latest release, “Chapter of the Forest,” debuted at no. 3 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and at no. 17 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart.
Pat Simmons Jr., a multi-instrumentalist from Maui, will perform as the opening act. His music is inspired by a passion for activism and organic living.
