Looking Ahead
The warm and humid conditions will continue as variable winds are expected through early next week with afternoon heat index values approaching 100 degrees at lower elevations. Increasing showers are forecasted Thursday through Saturday as moisture associated with Jimena and an upper level disturbance approaching from the northwest combine to bring another round of unsettled weather. Locally heavy downpours and potential for flooding exists from Thursday afternoon and possibly into the weekend.
Today
Today we expect partly sunny skies with scattered showers in the morning. In the afternoon cloud cover is expected to increase along with rainfall. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. Hazy skies are also expected although the rain will help to clean some of that up in areas where it falls. High temperatures from 87° to 92°. Sea breezes are expected up to 10 mph.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight
Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected with scattered to numerous showers. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. Low temperatures from 75° to 80°. Southeast winds are expected from 10 to 15 mph.
