North: Wave heights are expected to be overhead to double overhead in the morning and easing through the day.
West: Wave heights waist/shoulder high today. Spots not catching the swell are much smaller or flat.
South: Wave heights knee/waist high today with the best breaks possibly getting up to chest high from time to time.
Our current northwest swell is expected to shift a bit more north-northwest today and begin easing. Friday and Saturday we’ll be down to leftovers. A new north swell is expected to build Sunday into the head high range or so.
A big surge in easterly winds has brought small craft advisory conditions over most coastal waters. A Gale Warning is up for the Alenuihaha channel. Trade swell will continue as long as the winds are up.
Nothing of note expected out of the Southern Hemi for the final weeks of 2015.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
