Mayor Arakawa to Present 2016 State of the County Address Monday

The public is invited to attend the 2016 State of the County Address, which will be delivered by Mayor Alan Arakawa on Monday, March 14 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the McCoy Studio Theater at Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului.

Doors will open to the public at 5 p.m.; seating is limited. The program will begin at 6 p.m. with a live, state-wide television broadcast beginning at 6:30 p.m. Due to the live broadcast, all doors will be secured at 6:25 p.m. and no one will be allowed to enter or exit the theater until the conclusion of the event.

During his speech, Mayor Arakawa will highlight the County’s achievements in 2015, discuss some of the top issues currently facing Maui County, and outline plans for the coming year.

The Mayor’s State of the County Address will be broadcast live by Maui County’s public access channel, Akaku, on Channel 53. The live feed will also be carried by Hawaii News Now on Channels 9 and 5.

Seating for disabled individuals will be available; anyone requiring floor-level seating or other types of assistance or accommodation due to disability are asked to notify the Mayor’s Office by calling (808) 270-7855.
