Looking Ahead
Breezy trade winds are expected into Wednesday. Clouds and showers will favor windward and mauka areas, with an increase in trade showers expected starting Tuesday night. A late season front approaching Kauai from the northwest Thursday and Friday, is forecast to cause winds across the state to weaken and veer from the southeast. Local afternoon sea breezes and nighttime land breezes are expected to develop by the end of the work week. The front is expected to stall and eventually dissipate near Kauai later this week. Trade winds may gradually return to the island chain this weekend.
