“It’s Not About You!” Public Relations Workshop

The Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce will feature Christina Yumul, president of Storieology Communications, at its quarterly meeting on Wednesday, May 25, at 5:30 p.m. at the Leis Family Class Act Restaurant at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College.

Yumul will present a workshop on public relations entitled, “Impactful Public Relations: It’s Not About You,” that will cover how to research, plan, implement and evaluate public relations programs that genuinely connects and positively impacts your bottom line and your community.

Yumul is the founder and president of Storieology Communications, an integrated marketing communications firm based on Maui. Prior to launching her firm, she served as the director of public relations and marketing communications at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort for seven years.

Yumul is also a board member and the current chair for Maui Nui affinitiy for Public Relations Society of America, Hawaii Chapter. In 2013, she was highlighted in Pacific Business News’ “Women on the Move, High Achievers: How Women are Finding Success” feature. She is the recipient of several industry awards in consumer marketing, crisis communications, internal communications, special events and media relations.

The event fee is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. Heavy pūpū will be served.
