Candidates for Maui County Council seats will participate in a public forum hosted by the Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapū.

Retired Judge and MNHCoC board member Boyd Mossman will moderate the forum with assistance from other board members. Candidates will receive prepared questions in advance but audience members will have an opportunity to submit questions that night as time permits.

“Our members are naturally most interested in Maui’s business environment and Hawaiian well being, two issues that go hand-in- hand,” said MNHCoC president Teri Freitas Gorman, “For example, the scarcity of workforce housing on Maui negatively affects both business owners and our island-born people. We hope to hear from candidates with tangible plans for immediate action. It’s important to make an informed decision in the November election, locally and nationally.”
