Two Maui Clubs Grant Wish For Make-A-Wish Recipient
Beach Activities of Maui and Kā‘anapali Surf Club partnered with Make-A-Wish Hawai‘i to grant the wish of six-year-old Ruby.
Ruby has been undergoing cancer treatments and traveled from Oregon with her family to fulfill her wish of seeing Maui’s marine life.
“We are honored that Miss Ruby chose to visit Maui as her wish,” said Mike Kelley, owner of Beach Activities of Maui and Kā‘anapali Surf Club.
“We strongly believe in partnering with organizations such as Make-A-Wish Hawai‘i to provide special experiences for children battling life-threatening illnesses.”
While undergoing cancer treatments and spending extended periods of time in the hospital, Ruby spent her time learning about sea creatures.
Ruby and her family were treated to a stand up paddle board tour adventure by Kā‘anapali Surf Club, an independent affiliate of Beach Activities of Maui.
Along the guided tour, Ruby saw Hawaiian green sea turtles, held a pencil sea urchin and saw tropical fish.
Kā‘anapali Surf Club also presented Ruby with GoPro images and a video of the marine life she saw that day as a keepsake.
