Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf is chest/head high with the best breaks getting up to overhead on the sets.
West: Surf is pretty knee/waist high today for most westerly exposures with the best breaks up to chest high on the sets.
South: Surf is pretty knee/waist high today for most westerly exposures with the best breaks up to chest high on the sets.
Our current south-southwest swell holds much of its size through Thursday morning before fading Thursday afternoon and Friday. Another swell is lining up to fill in on the 10th for the 11th through 13th.
Our current northerly swell is fading so the High Surf Advisory was cancelled yesterday. A new north-northeast swell is expected to fill in late Thursday and hold through the weekend. This swell also brings the chance for a new High Surf Advisory along east facing shores. Another, slightly larger north-northeast swell is forecast to arrive early next week and peak Tuesday night.
An overlapping west-northwest / northwest swell is also mixing in on Thursday and fade over Friday and Saturday.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
