Minnesota Woman Pulled from Water at Kapalua Bay
A 72-year-old female visitor from Little Canada, Minnesota, was pulled from the waters at Kapalua Bay while snorkeling with another family member on Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to a report of the unresponsive female at 10:08 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
Nāpili firefighters arrived at 10:14 a.m. and found bystanders had brought the woman to shore. Officials say the woman was found floating face down about 50 yards from shore.
Firefighters initiated CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived and provided advanced life support, however, despite all efforts, the woman could not be resuscitated and died at the scene.
A similar incident happened in early February when a 64-year-old female was pulled from the waters at Kapalua Bay while snorkeling. She too did not survive.
