Looking Ahead
Winds are expected to weaken and veer out of the east-southeast for the weekend. That means afternoon sea breezes are forecast to bring clouds to interior and lee areas while nighttime land breezes will help to clear our skies of cloud cover. Volcanic haze could spread up from the Big Island to Maui County. If you have breathing issues make sure to take the necessary precautions. A wetter trade wind weather pattern is forecast to return to the Aloha State next week.
Today & Sunday
We have light east-southeast flow this weekend with afternoon sea breezes up to 10 mph. High temperatures are forecast from 81° to 86° and feeling a bit warmer. Mostly sunny skies in the morning with mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon and isolated showers. Volcanic haze could be a problem this weekend.
UV index at 12 (“extreme” exposure level)
Tonight & Sunday Night
Mostly cloudy skies to start with clearing as the land breeze takes hold. Just isolated showers in the forecast for the overnight hours. Low temperatures from 65° to 70°. Wind flow will be out of the east-southeast up to 10 mph.
