New City Nissan/HHSAA Boys Volleyball State Championships Starts Today

The New City Nissan/HHSAA Boys Volleyball State Championships gets underway this week with the new first-round regional format in the Division I bracket with league runner-ups hosting at their home courts today, Monday, May 1.

Winners of the first-round games move on to the remaining three days of the tournament, which continues with the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, May 4-5, at Moanalua and Radford High Schools. The losing teams will end their season.

The Division II bracket will keep its traditional three-day, eight-team tournament format beginning Thursday, May 4, at Hawai‘i Baptist Academy and Kalani High School.

Both tournaments will conclude on May 6, at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu.

King Kekaulike takes on Waipahu tonight, May 1, at 6 p.m. at King Kekaulike, the winner will take on Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i on Thursday, May 4, at Radford at 5 p.m.

Kamehameha Maui will take on the winner of the Kapolei/Waiakea game on Thursday, May 4, at Moanalua.
