The Shops at Wailea Announces Halloween Events

The Shops at Wailea is gearing up for October with a calendar full of activities including Halloween festivities, signature events, concert performances, cultural activities and more. One of the highlights of this month’s events is the 2nd Annual Keiki Halloween at The Shops on Sunday, October 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Families, their children, and even pets can participate in a fun-filled costume contest for a chance to win prizes.

Registration for the Keiki Halloween at The Shops costume contest begins at 3:00 p.m. for the following categories:

• Keiki, Ages 0-2
• Keiki, Ages 3-5
• Keiki, Ages 6-10
• Ohana (Family)
• Pets

The costume contest starts at 4:00 p.m., ending with judges announcing the winners and awarding the prizes at 5:30 p.m. Following the contest, children and their families are invited to stroll The Shops for a special trick-or-treat experience at 6:00 p.m.

“The Keiki Halloween at The Shops has become a much-anticipated family event,” said Diana Whitt, vice president at The Shops at Wailea. “It’s such a joy to see the children and the pets join in the fun. The creativity in their costumes is truly a sight to see.”

Entertainment events during the month include a performance by Amy Hanaiali’i on October 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Another signature event, Market at The Shops, will be held on October 10 and 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., featuring Maui made products, artisanal foods, and retail specials. Guests of The Shops at Wailea can continue to enjoy the weekly complimentary cultural activities this October such as the Polynesian Show, Ukulele Lessons, Lei Po’o Making, Island Wood Carvings, and Coconut Frond Weaving.

“October signals the beginning of celebrations leading up to the holidays. We’re inviting guests of all ages to join us in ushering in the season of festivities,” added Whitt. “Our entertainment offerings and cultural activities are meant to provide a warm and welcoming place for our local families and visitors to shop, dine and unwind.”

In a continued effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different Maui non-profit each month with 60% of the special event parking fees going back to the non-profit. In October, a portion of the parking proceeds from Keiki Halloween at The Shops, Jazz at The Shops, and Concerts at The Shops will benefit Women Helping Women, a local Maui non-profit dedicated to ending domestic violence. The Shops’ goal is to enrich the community through exploration and discovery in the arts and music while supporting local businesses and non-profit partners. The four-hour special event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the non-profit’s parking table.
