Heralded as “The Hawaiian Grateful Dead” by one of the band’s original members, Kanekoa has been playing together for 20 years, seamlessly melding the sounds of traditional Hawaiian music with rock, folk, blues, and reggae elements.

The band’s 2007 album “Under the Coconut Sky”’ is distributed worldwide. Showing no signs of slowing down, Kanekoa won the Nā Hōkū award in the reggae category for its 2016 release of “Tales of the Fruit Stand Mystic,” and was nominated again in 2017 for the album “Soic Fruit Volume IV.”
