New Partner Joins Maui-Based Consulting Firm

Melissa Unemori Hampe

Skog Rasmussen LLC, a Maui-based consulting firm, announced that Melissa Unemori Hampe has joined the firm as a partner.

“Hampe comes to the firm as an experienced federal government relations professional with 11 years of Capitol Hill experience in the House of Representatives and Senate and 11 years in private sector government relations, with an emphasis on nonprofits and community-based organizations,” according to the firm.

Hampe will use her extensive network spanning from Washington DC to Hawaiʻi to connect individuals and organizations in different sectors and industries. This will include formulating and implementing federal advocacy strategies around legislative and funding issues.

In addition, Hampe will assist clients of Skog Rasmussen with seeking new revenue streams; analyzing public and private funding opportunities at the local, state and national levels; providing grants readiness and writing support; conducting grants training; and advocating for support.

She is a seasoned grants professional having managed, reviewed, written, and/or edited grant submissions to federal, foundation, and corporate funders for a diverse set of clients over nearly a decade.

From the fifth generation of a Maui family, Hampe earned her B.S. degree from Cornell University and MBA degree from the Yale School of Management.

Skog Rasmussen LLC was co-founded in January of 2019 by Jeanne Skog, former CEO and President of Maui Economic Development Board and Teena Rasmussen, former Director of the County of Maui Office of Economic Development. The firm provides a suite of services to new and existing businesses, government agencies, nonprofits and other community groups focused on designing community and economic development solutions.
