Maui entrepreneurs are invited to a free workshop about developing a “strong” online presence for their business. 

The Maui Business Brainstormers will host its “The Bones of Your Business As Seen on Internet” seminar on Sept. 18, 2019, at the Maui Research & Technology Center in Kīhei. 

The interactive workshop will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature a panel discussion. 

A collaboration between Hawai’i Technology Development Corporation (HTDC), Innovate Hawai’i, Maui Research & Technology Center (MRTC) and Maui Business Brainstormers (MBB) are offering the seminar at no charge to attendees.

Patricia Diaz, an MBB organizer for this special collaboration, said the event is “focused only on benefiting our Maui community of business managers and entrepreneurs.” 

Is your business present online with strong bones? How about strong muscles? If you have no answer or are not sure, this workshop is for you, according to a Maui Business Brainstormers press release.

To get a business to start, it takes more than an idea. It takes your own village—could be your family
members, your next door neighbor, your long time friends—to back you or be the first customers.

Then, to secure a more steady revenue, your business will need to get noticed. So you start posting more on social media, paying to get your business noticed by Internet users.

But targeting the right channel with the right content is the biggest marketing challenge when you take your business online.

Workshop panelists, business advisors and/or business owners participating in the seminar include Nicole Fisher, David Yamashiro, Kit Zulueta Furukawa, Daryl Fujiwara and Wayne Wong.

The moderators are Diaz; Kai Alday and Grace Fung.

Online registration via MBB is required by Sept. 17. If you are not a member of MBB yet, you will need to join at no charge before registering for this free workshop.

“It’s a straightforward panel discussion about creating a strong online business presence, featuring the existing online business presence of real businesses”, said Wayne Inouye, Center Director of Innovative Hawai’i, a program under HTDC. “It will be a very interactive 270-min workshop with audience
participation.”

“Helping local businesses to find ways to and pave their path to success is core to HTDC’s mission,” said HTDC Acting Executive Director Len Higashi. “These innovative small businesses create the jobs we need.  We are happy to offer this third workshop of a series of four in collaboration with MBB.”
