Pukalani Superette Donates Thousands to Elementary Schools
Six upcountry elementary schools received a total of $9,000 in donations from Pukalani Superette.
The 64-year-old family owned and operated grocery store announced Friday that it donated $1,500 to Pāʻia, Makawao, Kula, Haʻikū, and Pukalani elementary schools.
According to a press release from the superette, the funds will support keiki educational programs.
The funds came from months of customer donations to the superetteʻs Coin Canister Collection program.
“We are so appreciative of our great customers who support and donate to this worthy cause. We look forward to raising more money from our Coin Canister Collection Program in the future, and giving even more back to our schools.” Pukalani Superette general manager Jerry Masaki said in the release.
“We encourage our customers to drop loose change, or make a donation, in the canisters found at each checkout counter in the store.”
