The annual Halloween in Lahaina event takes place this year on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 from 4 to 10 p.m. on Front Street.  The event attracts an estimated 20,000 revelers each year, and provides an opportunity costumed visitors and residents to stroll down the street and enjoy entertainment and costume contests, and activities for the family.

The Lahaina Town Action Committee, which organizes the event each year, is currently soliciting sponsors and donations.

More than 400 children and their families gather at the Outlets of Maui to kick off the festivities with the Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade.  Participating kids will march down Front Street to show off their costumes and trick-or-treat.

Joined by more than 120 members of the Lahainaluna High School marching band the parade ends in Campbell Park in the center of town where the kids can march across the stage, collect their goodie bags and join the band in a Keiki Dance Party.

Activities at Campbell Park will include food vendors, beverages, games, entertainment, performances and art installations that are open until 10 p.m.

The keiki theme continues at the Lahaina Cannery Mall where kids are invited to trick-or-treat and participate in games until 8 p.m.

The festival on Front Street continues until 10 p.m. with curated and sponsored art installations that the public can interact with and take pictures at.  During the street closure, various bars and restaurants host events as part of the Halloween festivities.

Attendees are reminded that costumes should not include items such as sabers, metal rods, firearms or firearm replicas. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited on streets, sidewalks and parks. Attendees that choose to consume alcohol are encouraged to drink in moderation, and not drink and drive.

Further details for this year’s event will be released later this month.
