$2.37 Million Secured for Community Health Centers in Maui County

An additional $2,375,810 was secured for Community Health Centers in Maui County as part of a Third Coronavirus Relief Legislation package that Congress passed in March.

The funding was announced today by US Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawaiʻi) and is part of a larger $10 million appropriation for Hawaiʻi facilities to respond to, prevent, diagnose and treat COVID-19. The funds are available as part of the CARES Act, the third coronavirus relief package Congress recently passed. Community health centers in Hawaiʻi also received about $1 million in funding in the first coronavirus relief package.

“Our community health centers continue to meet the daunting challenge of responding to the coronavirus pandemic. This infusion of funds will provide much-needed resources to a vital health care network,” Senator Hirono said. “Community health centers throughout Hawaii – and all health care providers – need additional support to keep up their work, and we must provide full funding and authorization for community health centers going forward.”
