Premiere Medical Group’s Dr. Scott Miscovich speaks with Annalisa Burgos of KITV4 this morning, detailing COVID-19 testing efforts on Maui, protocols for frontline workers, concerns among hospital employees and frustrations with leadership at the state level.

Dr. Miscovich led the team that provided testing on Molokaʻi last week as well as two days of testing in Kahului on Thursday and Friday, and a drive through site in the East Maui community of Hāna yesterday.

He said tentative plans call for additional testing on Molokaʻi on Tuesday, April 14; in Lahaina on Wednesday, April 15; in Kahului on Thursday, April 16, and return to Hāna again on Friday, April 17, 2020.  The schedule is subject to change as conditions warrant.

According to Dr. Miscovich, the company completed close to 1,000 tests in Kahului over two days and about 450 tests in Hāna yesterday.

Dr. Miscovich praised county leaders across the state, including Maui Mayor Michael Victorino, saying aggressive efforts at the county level are helping to identify where infection exists.
