Maui Crime May 23-29, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to five burglaries, eight vehicle thefts and nine vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from May 23-29, 2021.

The percentage of burglary cases decreased 29 percent from the week before when seven incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 11 percent from the week before when nine incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins increased 29 percent from the week before when seven incidents were reported.

5 Burglaries

Haʻikū:

• Wednesday, May 26, 8:28 p.m.: 7600 block of Hāna Highway, Haʻikū. Residential, forced entry.

Kahului:

• Friday, May 28, 12:22 p.m.: 300 block of Hilu Place, Kahului. Residential, unlawful entry.

Kīhei:

• Thursday, May 27, 10:58 a.m.: 600 block of Malimali St., Kīhei. Residential, forced entry.

Lahaina:

• Monday, May 24, 11:06 a.m.: 1-100 E Huapala Place, Lahaina. Residential, attempted entry.
• Wednesday, May 26, 6:51 a.m.: 666 Front St., Lahaina at ABC Store. Non-residential, forced entry.
