The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation will accept applications for Winter/Spring 2022 Tri-Annual Permits through this Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, for leagues, and recreational programs. Permit applications are for the recreational use of pools, gyms, fields, stadiums, and tennis courts during the period of Jan. 1 to April 15, 2022.

Because of ongoing COVID-19 impacts, all permits issued will be subject to current CDC guidelines and Public Health Emergency Rules. Permits are subject to cancellation. Permits may also be modified or rescinded when necessary to comply with health rules.

Applicants are highly encouraged to request assistance with properly completing tri-annual applications. This should be done early to help with submission of complete applications well in advance of the Oct. 8 deadline. To schedule an appointment for help by phone, call 808-270-7389 during office hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

To reduce person-to-person contact and delays in processing times for permit applicants, the department is requesting application requests via email only at DPRPermits@mauicounty.gov. If email is not available for applicants, then hard copies of applications can be dropped off at the War Memorial complex main permit office drop box. It is located through the metal gate, on the sidewalk next to the Coach Soichi Sakamoto Pool. Only complete applications will be processed.

Complete applications will be accepted through 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2021. Late applications will not be considered.

Application packets will be available by request via email and on the County of Maui website at www.mauicounty.gov/parks.
