Millions of people need to wake up to a little bean. This berry, once roasted, has an eye-opening and rather addictive quality. Depending on the soil, water, sunshine, roast, drying time, and in one instance, whether its been extruded by a mountain goat, makes coffee either OK, great, amazing, or nectar of the gods.

Maui Coffee Roasters in Kahului serves up great coffee that has customers waiting for their doors to open each morning. Coffee preferences vary with every individual. Some might love the cup of Joe they get from the corner gas station, while others swear by that popularized iconic green and white coffee chain from Seattle. If you’re an espresso fanatic, own a French press, and get excited over the glinting oil spots on the surface of your cup, you may want to give this coffee shop a try.

At Maui Coffee Roasters, local berries, Maui Coffee and Kona Coffee come standard. Other brews are also available with soy and rice milk alternatives. Non-coffee drinkers can choose from teas, sodas, and steamed milk.

For those that need a little more substance with their beverage of choice, Maui Coffee offers sandwiches and baked goods. Prices are comparable to any other coffee place. If you go during “Happy Cappy Hour,” from 2 p.m. until closing, cappuccinos are only $1.50.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Logo gear, French presses and other coffee accessories are sold at the shop.
